Role:           Research Assistant
Hours:        Approximately 10-25 hours per week
Terms:        Contract
Location:    Vancouver, BC

Broadleaf Consulting is looking for a highly motivated, independent professional to work flexibly on contract for approximately 10-25 hours per week.  Please read on and respond if this description resonates with you. 

You’d work on multiple projects, with tasks assigned as required.  Projects are diverse, challenging and often fast-paced.   

  • You're fastidious and detail oriented, double checking your data entry, formulas, and the consistency of your work 
  • You love to express your creativity with excel formulas and data visualization
  • You're a self starter motivated by deliverables
  • You thrive on a challenge and have the focus to check data quality
  • You enjoy a flexible schedule and manage your time like a pro
  • You keep your eye on the big picture when conducting detailed analysis
  • You are patient with survey programs, making sure that everything is just right so that when you export data it's in great shape for analysis
  • You find satisfaction in making sure budgets add up and you enjoy preparing a variety of reports to demonstrate different
  • You work well with specific requests, you flag issues and feel comfortable asking questions
  • You pride yourself on your professional integrity
  • You've worked in non profits or the health sector, with experience in all aspects of the project cycle

The main responsibilities are:

  • Conducting background research
  • Creating templates in word and excel
  • Populating templates with data
  • Data cleaning
  • Preparing data tables and graphs (quantitative)
  • Data collection and documentation (qualitative)
  • Formatting documents and reports
  • Setting up surveys
  • Creating reports from surveys
  • Integrating data from different spreadsheets
  • Creating budgets from financial information
  • Generating excel reports of all kinds

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with non-profit and health sector
  • Familiarity with evaluation principles and approaches
  • Excellent skills with excel
  • Formatting (word, excel)
  • Preparing data tables
  • Experience with online survey programs
  • Understanding of budgets

The work would be done virtually with regular (weekly or bi-weekly) in-person meetings.
